Find a Humana Medicare Advantage plan in your local area
When you compare Medicare Advantage plans in your area, you will be able to compare a number of plan aspects, including:

Humana Medicare Advantage enrollment eligibility
There are two general requirements to become eligible for a Humana Medicare Advantage plan. These enrollment requirements include:
- You are enrolled in both Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B (known together as Original Medicare).
- You live in the area serviced by your desired plan, and the plan is accepting new members during your application period.

When can you enroll in a Humana Medicare Advantage plan?
There are generally four times throughout the year in which you may enroll in a Humana Medicare Advantage plan, depending on your personal situation and your Medicare eligibility.
Initial Enrollment Period (IEP)
Your Initial Enrollment Period (IEP) begins three months before you turn 65 years old and continues for three more months after turning 65. During this time, you may complete your Original Medicare enrollment, and you may be eligible to enroll in a Humana Medicare Advantage plan.
If you enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan during your IEP, you can switch to another Medicare Advantage plan within the first 3 months you have Medicare.

Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP)
The Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) lasts from October 15 to December 7 each year.

During the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period (OEP) – which lasts from January 1 to March 31 each year – Medicare Advantage plan beneficiaries may disenroll from their current Medicare Advantage plan and switch to a different Medicare Advantage plan.
During this period, you may also elect to return to Original Medicare.
Special Enrollment Period (SEP)
Certain circumstances may make you eligible for a Special Enrollment Period (SEP). These enrollment periods may be granted to qualified individuals at any time throughout the year for a number of specific reasons.
These qualifying circumstances can include:
- Moving to a new address
- Residing in a skilled nursing facility
- Losing employer or COBRA health coverage
